The Château Lafont-Fourcat 2014, which is Merlot with a soupcon of Malbec, has an appreciable degree of succulence on the nose: dark plum and blueberries, nicely defined and focused with a touch of violet coming through with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with quite sharp acidity that lends this freshness and tension. It gently builds a delivers a razor-sharp, citric-fresh finish. This is very promising.
